I am absolutely delighted to formally announce that UK for Good is B Corp Certified™ 😊
This means we join a very special global community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental impact. Businesses you’ll be familiar with such as Patagonia, Elvis & Kresse, Ella’s Kitchen, and Brabners amongst about 1200 other brilliantly impactful UK businesses.
The B Corp journey so far has involved a lot of hard work and acheiving the Certification means the world to us.
We are very proud to have achieved a score of 109.8 including recognition for an Impact Business Model for Impact Improvement. This element of the B Impact Assessment recognises the work we do with our clients as B Corp consultants to help them better understand and improve their impact on their people, communities and the planet.
A score of 109.8 is a big deal in the B Corp community and I’ve received lots of congratulations messages to celebrate our achievement. However, the value of that score is not so widely understood in the general business world. Take a look at the breakdown of our score on the B Corp Directory and you’ll understand why it means so much to us!
It was only during the pandemic in 2021 that I established UK for Good using the B Corp framework to guide our business ambitions, and as a start-up became Pending B Corp.
Since then, our purpose has been simply to shape a cleaner, greener, fairer future by helping businesses better understand and improve their impact on their people and the planet.
In short, we work hard to encourage and support business leaders to create purpose beyond profit; to do good, and do well.
The theme of this year’s B Corp Month (in March) was #wegobeyond. The idea is to celebrate B Corps that create purpose beyond profit.
At UK for Good #wegobeyond by helping our membership community of forward-thinking businesses learn from experts and each other how they too can use their businesses as a force for good.
We are hugely grateful to so many people who have supported our journey so far, and look forward to sharing our progress as we continue to explore ways we can do more, and faster, to shape a better world for our children and future generations.
